Peter Gray

Zimbabwe born, Peter Gray's paintings and sculptures capture the rugged beauty, power and magical mystery of Africa, its warm flavour of the peoples and its abundant wildlife. Sculptures are produced in bronze and pure silver, each piece being signed and numbered as limited editions.

Living only a short distance from the Hwange National Park and on the doorstep of the Great Matobo Hills National park, Peter Gray grew up with a natural love of the bush and its wildlife.

He studied Fine Art at the University of Cape Town “Michalis School of Fine Art” in the early 70's and before graduating, he won the “Simon Gerson Prize” for sculpture.  Peter Gray has since become a well known wildlife artist and exhibits in South Africa, Zimbabwe, London and the United States and has been featured in various magazines and tabloids, “The Times”, and “Tatler of London” included.  He is a member of the Society of Animal Artists in the USA.

Since 1982, he has established his own workshops, studio, foundry and gallery in Zimbabwe and South Africa and his work is collected by clients internationally.  Peter Gray currently resides near Cape Town, South Africa.  African Dreams is proud to represent several of Peter Gray's oil paintings, prints, bronze sculptures and sterling silver jewelry.
